Learning design is…

I have been thinking about defining what I do, partly because it seems so close to the role of instructional design and (in some circles) the terms are interchangeable. So I’m putting the question out to you. What is learning design, in your opinion?

I used to worry about the terms. Now I just look for folks doing related work with whom I could collaborate.

  Thanks for your comment. I agree with you and that’s certainly how I approach the day to day. I guess what I am aiming for is a way to describe the work to people who are not doing related work- but are looking for some expertise to help them develop a project or approach to addressing a problem or challenge that they have identified. Just seems to me it would be useful to have a way to describe the work that isn’t complicated. That’s what I’m trying to get at.
